Toenail fungus is a very common condition and is experienced by as many as 10-15% of Americans. Clinically named onychomycosis, toenail fungus is an infection of the nail and nail bed that results in a change of appearance in the nail. Toenail fungus causes a nail to look yellow, brittle, thickened, and oddly shaped. Toenail fungus usually presents itself in warm, damp environments such as locker room. People who have diabetes, athlete’s foot, weak immune systems, or spend a lot of time in water are also likely to develop toenail fungus.
Q-switched laser treatment is the most effective method to treat toenail fungus. Unlike topical creams, lasers are able to emit light energy through the nail plate to the nail bed where the fungus and infection reside. Visible changes are not seen immediately, but can be seen after a few months, once the nail grows out.
Q-Switched Laser Treatment is a gentle alternative, and requires less sessions than skin resurfacing procedures to achieve similar results. Thus, reducing the chances of side effects greatly. It does not cause the skin to become thinner.
The laser energy feels like many tiny hot dots on your skin. The process is very tolerable.
The best part of the Q-switched laser is that it is effective with no downtime! A mild pinkish flush might be present for about 15mins after the laser. You can put on make-up immediately after a laser treatment and go straight back to work!
Avoid sun tanning for the next 7-10 days. Also apply an appropriate sunscreen.
Non-permanent laser hair removal or laser hair bleaching, It is well-known that the fine hair (also known as baby hair) cannot be removed permanently by laser hair removal and sometimes though rear the opposite occurs, this fine hair is transformed to thick, coarse hair due to thermal effects of laser hair removal.
With QS-Ultralight we can offer our patients non-permanent laser hair removal or laser hair bleaching of fine hair using Q-Switched ND: YAG Laser targeting the melanin of fine hair shaft and bleaching it thus making it invisible and it will fall after 10-15 days without any risk of hair growth stimulation.
After 6-8 weeks the fine hair will reappear but with the same texture and quality. Some of our patients got a noticeable reduction in hair after a few sessions, but we cannot guarantee that for all patients.
This laser can treat fine hairs that cannot be targeted by other lasers. It targets the melanin in the hair shaft and bleaches it, thus making it invisible.
There is no specific area. It is very safe and effective that the patients could do a full body and face hair bleaching if they want except the eye area.
The patients could do many sessions as they desired with 4-6 weeks interval between the sessions.
The treatment is superficial and not painful. Patients report a slight tingling sensation- however, a topical anesthetic usually applied if requested.
We advise antibiotic cream on the treated area twice daily for two days. And protect the treated areas from sun exposure.
Actually all skin types could apply this treatment wither it is white, black, and even tanned.
There is no specific area. It is very safe and effective that the patients could do a full body and face hair bleaching if they want except the eye area (orbital cavity).
Pigmentation such as pigmented lesions known as brown or age spot. Added to that freckles, sun spots, age spots, brown spots, melasma, and birthmarks), are common skin blemishes in the skin that form due to age or excessive sun exposure. Most patients get this procedure to rewind signs of aging. Pigmented lesions are caused by excess melanin in the skin. While the majority of pigmented lesions are harmless, some are melanomas and can be associated with skin cancer. Q-switched lasers are able to break up the excess melanin of benign lesions and completely remove them within 1 to 2 treatments.)
Acne marks are caused by inflammation (the redness and pain) from pimples. The inflammation causes the skin to produce pigments. These pigments are cause of acne marks, which can be effectively removed with the laser.
Skin rejuvenation is an extremely popular procedure that is performed worldwide. This procedure helps get rid of skin irregularities and unwanted blemishes like fine lines, wrinkles, acne scares, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, and more. Q-switched lasers help remove the top layer of skin and stimulate new skin cells to reveal a tighter, younger looking complexion. Many patients prefer Q-switched laser treatment over harmful ablative treatments or ineffective creams due to the little to no recovery time. Treatments are typically performed on the face, neck, and hands.
The colour of our skin is also determined by the amount of skin pigments. Darker skin people or people who go sun tanning often have more skin pigments. The laser, at the correct setting, helps lighten the skin tone and makes it fairer and brighter.
Carbon Laser Treatments are one of the newest and innovative laser procedures on the market. With immediate results and zero downtime, this treatment is perfect prior to a big event or special occasion!
What is a Carbon Laser Treatment?
A Carbon Laser Treatments is a medical grade mask composed of mineral mud of volcanic rock, applied to the skin prior to our Laser Rejuvenation facials.
This advanced laser treatment has been designed to improve the skins overall appearance by;
The treatments work by applying a thin layer of the carbon mask onto the skin, which will then penetrate deep into the pores. The Medlite Q-switched laser is then used on top of the mask, targeting the carbon particles within the skin. As the laser passes over the skin, it destroys the carbon particles. This abolishes any dead skin, excess oil, and impurities that the peel has engaged with, thus cleansing and exfoliating the skin simultaneously. This results in immediately smoother, firmer, and brighter skin. Similar to Laser Rejuvenation, the treatment will also stimulate collagen and elastin fibers within the skin, assisting in smoothing out fine lines & wrinkles.
The Carbon Laser Treatment can be used on any body area in which consists of uneven skin tone, fine lines & wrinkles, acne, or surface pigmentation. Most common areas of treatment include the face, neck, decolletage, hands, back, and buttocks.
Treatments are relatively fast, provide little to no discomfort, and have no downtime – which means you are able to carry on with your day after your treatment with no inconvenience.
Unlike Laser Rejuvenation facials on its own, you will see immediate results as well as gradual results over several weeks following your treatment.
The number of treatments required vary per individual, as results are dependent on your skin type, area being treated, as well as the area size. As a guide, carbon laser treatments usually require 6-8 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart
On the treated area, Laser Hair Removal can be done 1 week before commencing course of Carbon Laser Treatments. No hair will be able to grow through once Carbon Laser Treatments are in the progress. If any hair does grow through Nd:Yag laser will discolour that hair and it will fall out within 1 or 2 weeks. This can happen especially on the lip area.
Causes of dark lips can be:
Nd: Yag laser emits light in 1056 nm range. It gets absorbed by black color containing cells in lips. Light gets converted to heat energy. This heat blasts the cells releasing the black pigment. Which eventually gets cleared off by the blood vessels leading to lip lightening.
Numbing cream is applied over lips for an hour. Laser shots are given to concerned dark lip areas. There is an immediate slight swelling. It settles down in next few hours. Crusts are formed next day which shed off in next 4 to 5 days time. When they shed off, they take off the blackish discoloration of lips along with them.
3 to 4 sessions done at fortnightly interval.
Absolutely safe, provided done by a dermatologist using US FDA approved laser (not Chinese). Never get lasers done at saloon or spa.
It’s very safe, provided new unused needle is used. And good quality colors are used.
Since both procedures are done after local anesthesia, both procedures re painless.
LASER: Mild crust formation would be there post treatment, but that can be easily hidden with lipsticks. Crust fall off in next 3 to 5 days time. After every session there would be mild crust formation.MICROPIGMENTATION: Initially the colour is dark. 70 %of colour fades off after 2 to 3 weeks. Whatever 30 % is left remains or a year. It looks very natural. Swelling is present post procedure for two to three days. Also peeling off of superficial layers is noticed post few days after the procedure. A lip balm and antibiotic is prescribed after the procedure for few days.
That depends. One needs to avoid the cause. If at all darkness returns, it would be at very slow pace. So what I recommend is a single laser session once a year to clear off whatever new pigmentation lip have accumulated. No repeat sessions cause no harm since laser never penetrates beyond skin.
Both the procedures are both men and women.
Vascular lesions, commonly referred to as spider veins, are another common skin blemish that can be successfully treated with Q-switched lasers. Vascular lesions are the result of numerous or large vessels that appear directly underneath the skin. They are usually red or purple and form in all shapes and sizes on all parts of the body, most commonly on the face and legs. Although vascular lesions are harmless, many patients wish to remove them for aesthetic reasons. Q-switched lasers emit use light energy to collapse the veins and capillaries while leaving the surrounding skin tissue unharmed. It only takes a few treatments to break down the vein and reveal clear skin.
Decorative tattoos have a history dating back at least 5000 years. The desire to remove them has probably existed just as long. Early attempts to remove tattoos included methods like dermabrasions, salabrasions, and C02 lasers, which left scarring and were not designed to differentiate tattoo colors. The latest generation of Q-switched lasers represents the newest system capable of removing multiple tattoo inks with very low risk of scarring.
The procedure utilizes an intense beam of light to remove and lighten the tattoo, without harming the surrounding healthy skin cells. When the ink particles of the tattoo absorb the light from the laser, they are broken up into tiny fragments and consequently these fragments are absorbed through the body’s natural cleansing mechanism. Generally, it takes several months for the cleansing process to be complete.
Here at MMC we perform laser tattoo removal and we have perfected this specialized area of Cosmetic Dermatology. We have a strong commitment to patients’ satisfaction, education and desire to exceed their expectations and we have proven this thousand times while performing the procedure.
The Nd: Q-switched YAG laser is considered as quite effective to remove tattoos.
The laser emits light in very short flashes of light called pulses. The impact of the energy from the powerful pulse of light is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band on the skin. The big majority of patients do not require anesthesia.
Professional tattoos may require between 1 to 10 treatments, with the average being 5-10 treatments. Homemade tattoos usually may require 1-4 treatments. All treatments are spaced about 1-2 months apart or longer. The number of treatments depends on the amount, type of ink used, and the depth of the ink in the skin, location of tattoo, along with individual health considerations.
No. Dark (blue/black) inks and red inks fade the best. Orange, yellow, and purple hues usually respond well. Green, light teal/sky blue inks are the most difficult to remove, although additional treatments may produce effective results or significant fading.
A healing ointment and a dressing will be applied to the area. The treated area should be kept clean with continued application of ointment antibiotic. A shower can be taken the next day, although the treated area should not be scrubbed.
In many cases, yes. Greater than 95% fading of the tattoo may be accomplished. However, it is very important to know that over 100 types of tattoo inks are in use worldwide today. Not knowing which tattoo ink, how deep or how much was used, makes it impossible for the physician to predict the degree of removal on the any given tattoo.
